Hyperion USB to SERIAL Adapter
1. Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Hyperion USB<>Serial adapter. This device provides a simple and easy way to connect Serial-Interface devices to computers without a native serial port, via USB ports V1.1 or higher. This adapter is designed for use with the Hyperion Emeter and HP-PCCABLE, but can also be used with any other serial device which has Serial DB9 interface, for transfer speed up to 120kbps.
With the advantage of USB, users have the capability to utilize Serial peripherals in an easy-to-use plug and play environment with hot swap function, if supported by the operating system.
The USB-Serial adapter and software drivers provide “no-firmware-change” convenience that enables the USB interface to be transparent to serial port peripherals with little or no configuration required.
